Sizes Guide

Choosing the right magnet size matters more than you think

The difference between a 2″×2″ and a 3″×3″ isn't just an inch, it's the difference between a face you can read from across a kitchen and one that's a blur on the fridge. Here's how to pick the right size for your photo, your recipient, and your occasion.

Each size, in detail

2″×2″
Party favors, bulk orders, budget packs

Our smallest size. Faces are visible but small, best for group shots or simple portrait crops. Ideal when quantity matters more than display size.

Common uses: Wedding favors, birthday party giveaways, stocking stuffers  ·  From: $15.99 (5-pack)

2.5″×2.5″
Portraits, individual gifts, most popular

Our most popular size. Large enough to show faces clearly, small enough to fit anywhere on a fridge. The sweet spot for most gift scenarios.

Common uses: Grandparent gifts, personal keepsakes, workplace gifts  ·  From: $17.99 (5-pack)

3″×3″
Statement pieces, landscape photos, grandparent gifts

Our largest square size. Makes a real impression, especially for landscape shots or photos where you want maximum detail. Great for the recipient who wants it to stand out.

Common uses: Desk display, large fridge galleries, pet portraits  ·  From: $19.99 (5-pack)

2″×3″
Portrait orientation photos, vertical shots

Designed for photos taken in portrait orientation (taller than wide). Great when you don't want to crop out the full height of the shot.

Common uses: Full-body shots, tall group photos, candid vertical snaps  ·  From: Available in standard packs

2.5″×3.5″
Wallet-size feel, face-forward portraits

The classic wallet photo proportions in magnetic form. Excellent for face portraits where you want a slightly taller frame than a square allows.

Common uses: Individual portraits, sports photos, close-up face shots  ·  From: Available in standard packs

Which size for which occasion

Quick recommendations by use case.

Wedding favors
→ 2″×2″ or 2.5″×2.5″

Cost-effective in bulk and small enough to feel like a keepsake rather than a statement piece. The 50-pack at 2"×2" gives you the best per-magnet price for large guest lists.

Grandparent gift
→ 3″×3″

Grandparents display these proudly, the larger size makes faces easy to see from across the room and fills a meaningful spot on the fridge.

Birthday party favor
→ 2″×2″

Budget-friendly for large groups and the right size for a fun party keepsake. Order the 9-pack or 50-pack for the best value.

Office desk gift
→ 3″×3″

A larger magnet on a filing cabinet or whiteboard holds its own visually in an office environment. Great for team photos or individual portraits.

Personal keepsake
→ 2.5″×2.5″

For personal use (not a gift), this size is easy to display without taking over the fridge. Pack of 5 or 9 lets you rotate photos.

Portrait-orientation photo
→ 2″×3″ or 2.5″×3.5″

If your best photo is vertical (portrait mode), preserve the full composition with a portrait-format magnet rather than cropping it to a square.

How crop affects what you see

At 2″×2″, a photo of a full room will be too small to read. But a tight crop of just a face , from chin to top of head, will look clear and warm even at that small size. The crop matters more than the size.

  • Faces: Crop tight, just head and shoulders. Avoid full-body shots on small sizes; the face will be too small to see clearly.
  • Group shots: Work best at 2.5″×2.5″ or 3″×3″ where there's enough space to distinguish individual faces.
  • Landscape photos: Go for 3″×3″ or 2.5″×3.5″, you need the real estate to show the scene.
  • Pet portraits: 2.5″×2.5″ or 3″×3″. Pets often have expressive faces that deserve the extra space.

Size questions

Can I order multiple sizes in one order?

Yes. Add different size products to your cart and check out together. Each product line item can have its own size and photo. There's no restriction on mixing sizes in one order.

What size do most people order?

The 2.5"×2.5" is our most ordered size for gifts. The 2"×2" is most popular for event bulk orders (weddings, parties) where cost per unit matters. The 3"×3" is favored for grandparent gifts and statement pieces.

Does size affect print quality?

Not in a meaningful way, as long as your source photo has enough resolution. A 12MP smartphone photo will print beautifully at any size we offer. Larger sizes simply require higher pixel counts in the source file, but almost all modern phone photos exceed our minimum at every size.
